Ohio Lawmakers Propose Bill for Stricter Medical Marijuana Law

Marijuana Ohio Law

Ohio has adopted one of the strictest medical marijuana programs in the nation. Some lawmakers are attempting to further restrict the amount of medicine a qualifying patient may be able to purchase. The Ohio State Board of Pharmacy recently released the proposed allowable amounts.

Regarding the proposed regulations, the public comment period ends on March 10, according to WDTN 2 News. Some of the proposed terms are limiting the THC concentration a product can have. Ohio would be the first state to calculate limits using this formula.

In a 90-day period, patients would only be permitted to purchase six-ounces of marijuana products or “plant material” that are equal to the THC limit allowed.

Ohio still has a great deal of time to get regulations in place. It’s program is not slated to go into full-swing until September 2018.
